CC Week 3.0 Pasta Again

Dinner is served - Linguini con Musells

Okay, so still feeling inspired, I tackled a dish that I've been wanting to try - sun-dried tomato with pesto. I googled for recipe of course and I ended up here. Instead of fusili, I used whole wheat linguini, then added toasted pine nuts and shrimp.

It looks like pancit (chow mien) :)

Turned out not bad I guess but I think I need more practice to master the art of salt +pepper combination..

Chocoholic

Portland peeps, will I see you at the

Inspired by the widely-acclaimed Julie & Julia which my husband and I finally watched last night (Thanks Netfix free trial!), I decided to challenge myself to cook more, for the good of our wallet and for the good of our waistline. But 524 recipes in 365 days is totally impossible for me so I define my challenge as: to cook a special dish or a new dish at least once a week.

Today, for my CC Week 1, while my husband is up on Mt Hood and I'm stuck here at home, car-less, this is what I prepared - Vermicelli with Stir-fry chicken.
The noodles were boiled in plain water but could have been tastier if boiled in chicken broth...next time :) I wish I could say that I got the recipe from a fancy Asian recipe book but no, I can't, because I got it from the back of this Korean Teriyaki Stir-Fry Sauce.

Till next week's CC. :) Light pasta maybe?

Our Christmas Tree

Last Saturday, we made a last-minute decision to decorate the house. First, we picked the tree, a 6-feet full Fir from Furrow Farm in our neighbor city Helvetia. It's the same city were the Roloff farm is.

Then we did a marathon shopping for ornaments. Luckily, most of the Christmas decorations were already on sale. Sunday, before church, Jay trimmed it and then we put up the tree, added the lights and the red and gold balls. It looked alright but it's missing the most important ornament.

So on Monday night, we visited some shops again and found the perfect Tala.

Advance Merry Christmas everyone :)
