Maui

We can describe the honeymoon in Maui in one word-AWESOME. There will be other amazing and beautiful places that we will see in the future but we're sure that nothing , absolutely nothing will top this trip.
We got lei'd a few times, walked on the golden Kaanapali sand holding hands while waiting for sunset, sampled Maui cuisine, swam with the fishes and sea turtles, listened to the waves, picked a pearl from an oyster and watched it made into a beautiful pendant, danced to the Hawaiian wedding song(best memory ever!), watched Hula dance, savored every bite of Hula Pie, sipped Mai-Tai and Lava Flow, drove to Maui's highest peak, set foot and watched a beautiful sunset on a dormant volcano(Haleakala), shopped at Hilo Hattie and discovered the beautiful music of Iz.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

This song was constantly played in Maui (on radio and live) and I love love it so when we came back to the Mainland, I google-d the song. I found out that this was by a very popular Hawaiian musician named Israel "Iz" Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole. I felt sad to read that he died in 1997 and I will never have the chance to see and hear him perform live.

Another Iz' song... Isn't it lovely? I'm now a die-hard Iz fan!

Amazing Maui

We're back from a short but FUNtastic trip from Maui. I will share the trip stories but let me post a few pics for now :)
Lei-ed at Kahului Airport (OGG)

First stop was at Snorkel Bob to rent gears

At the Old Lahaina Luau
Onboard Trilogy V to Molokini for snorkeling

In front of Sheraton enjoying a bit of sun
In historic and bustling Lahaina

Jay gifted me with a pair of Tahitian pearls earrings and a pearl pendant which he picked from an oyster(!).
Because someone told me that one has not been to Hawaii if she or he hasn't shopped at Hilo Hattie

Other pics are here.

here on our side of the world and J is practicing his singing skills (Hello Karaoke). He let me try one song and my score was 20! Golly, who gets a 20? I have the most out-of-tune voice. Kahiya.

is too late to shop

for a swimwear? I've been procratinating on purchasing a decent swimwear for our Hawaii trip because I was still hoping to lose the unwanted fats in my body. I did go to the gym regularly in the last month and cut on chocolates and ice cream, but still I didn't see any improvement so I just accepted the fact that I won't be back to my wedding day body in time for the trip. =( But, will swimwear still be available in the stores?

Pretty bag

Isn't she pretty? Something to spice up my boring outfits, no?

Saturday

Saturday is usually errands day for us. First errand was grocery. We bought more than the usual because I want to try the Grilled Vegetable and Mozzarella Panini recipe that I clipped from Self magazine. It looks delicious and each serving has only 258 calories . Winner no? We also passed by a (street) mall to get me some (kikay) stuffs. Saw that Gap was on sale so we dropped by. Nothing from the sale rack fancied me so I was kind of disappointed. Since we have some time to kill, I browsed through some regular priced items and to my surprise the dress that I wanted before was actually marked down - from $54 to $14!. Here's the dress:
